Answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Corona Testing Centre

Corona testzentrum registrierung

The Federal Government has opened a corona testing centre at Dortmund Airport in cooperation with the North Rhine-Westphalia-Lippe Association of State Health Insurance Physicians. An increasing number of enquiries are reaching us, which we are happy to answer.

To whom does the service apply?

Only passengers returning from the risk areas, as defined by the RKI, will be able to have themselves tested directly at Dortmund Airport upon their arrival

Who is unable to get tested?

  • Passengers arriving from non-risk areas
  • Persons arriving by land

If you belong to these groups of people, you may contact your family doctor or the relevant health authority. Information on test centres can also be obtained by calling the medical service number 116117.

When is a test possible?

A test at the airport is only possible immediately after arrival from a risk area.

When is the test centre open?

The test centre only opens upon an aircraft arriving at Dortmund Airport which has flown in directly from a risk area.

How much does a test cost?

The test is free of charge for passengers returning from risk areas. It is not possible for other people to have themselves tested at Dortmund Airport - not even for a fee.

When will the test result be available?

After about three working days - until then, the requirement for quarantine applies.

Where is the test centre located?

The test centre is currently located on the arrivals level (level 0), directly next to the baggage hall exit.

Is the testing centre operated by Dortmund Airport?

No. Dortmund Airport only provides the site. The testing centre is operated by the Federal Association of SHI Physicians (KVWL). Any detailed questions can therefore only be answered by the KVWL.
