The test centre at Dortmund Airport not only offers PCR tests and rapid antigen tests for travellers. All citizens can use the test centre for a chargeable test (rapid test). The result of the rapid antigen tests  is usually available after about 15 minutes. In the case of PCR tests, the transmission of results takes up to 48 hours.

Regardless of the type of test, we recommend making an appointment in advance with Medicare, the test centre provider. You can do this easily online, via the provider's website, or by phone: 0172-7447733. This avoids queues and keeps your stay at the test centre short to minimise the risk of infection.

Compulsory testing for travellers

Currently, travellers can only enter some countries after presenting a negative COVID-19 test. The requirements for the type of test vary from country to country. Therefore, you should find out in advance which test you need and how long it may be in the past. Information on this can be obtained from the consulate responsible for the respective country or on the website of the Federal Foreign Office. Furthermore, your can find information on European Countries on the website Re-open EU. For PCR tests, a result transmission of up to 48 hours must be taken into account, so the appointment should be arranged appropriately.

Depending on the document you use to identify yourself when travelling (identity card or passport), corresponding information will also be noted on the test result. Travellers should therefore always carry the identification document noted on the test result with them for comparison. The test result can always be issued in English. For other languages, please contact the test centre in advance.
