The Hungarian airline Wizz Air is directing its attention towards the winter flight schedule and announcing two new direct flight destinations, which will complement the current range of flights from Dortmund Airport in winter.

From 30 October 2018, the Hungarian airline Wizz Air will be operating flights between Dortmund and Tirana three times a week. Dortmund is the only airport in NRW to have Tirana as a destination in its winter flight schedule, and one that offers a direct connection. In Albania's capital, about half a million people live at the foot of the Dajti Mountains and on the banks of the Lana River. Residents and tourists especially appreciate the proximity to the coast. The new flight service is aimed in particular at passengers who have their roots in Albania and can thereby reach their country of origin quickly, for example to visit relatives and friends. In summer, Tirana is the perfect starting point for a beach holiday in one of the nearby coastal towns.

From 15 December 2018, Pristina in Kosovo will also be accessible from Dortmund Airport. Wizz Air will also fly three times a week to the political, economic and cultural centre of Kosovo.
