Good news for holidaymakers: this summer there will be another destination to choose from in Dortmund. Wizz Air has announced that it will be offering a direct connection to Yerevan from 29 April. Passengers will then be able to fly from Dortmund Airport to the capital of Armenia twice a week: every Sunday and Wednesday.
"We are delighted to be able to offer our passengers this new, exciting travel service", says airport CEO Ludger van Bebber. "It is always nice to welcome another country to our portfolio", continues Bebber.
Yerevan is considered to be one of the oldest cities in the world. The city is sometimes also spelled “Erevan” and is known as the "Pink City" because many of the city's historic buildings were built from the pink stones of the surrounding landscape, tinging the city of millions a pretty shade of pink. Travellers can expect warm summers and a fascinating panoramic view of the city from the top of the Yerevan cascade, a giant limestone stairway.
Tickets for the new flight connections can already be booked now.
