Dortmund Airport has successfully beaten the competition and been named the best German Eurowings Station in the Eurowings Station Awards. In the overall comparison, the airport placed behind Salzburg and Graz and is thus the third best Eurowings station in Europe. A total of 37 airports operating for Eurowings were included in the evaluation.

As part of the award, the airline evaluated the participating stations in view of selected aspects. In this way, Eurowings wants to reward outstanding cooperation with partner airports and at the same time provide an incentive for continuous improvement. The ranking was based on the criteria of punctuality, process reliability and customer satisfaction, among others.

Michael Fanto, Eurowings Base Manager in Dortmund, is thrilled: "It makes me incredibly proud and on the one hand highlights the outstanding performance of the entire operational team at the location and on the other hand also that the lived experience of Eurowings is excellent in DTM." The airport particularly stood out in the area of customer satisfaction. No other location managed to surpass Dortmund Airport in this category. Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services + Marketing & Sales, and Nicole Kompa, Head of Passenger Handling, accepted the award from Michael Fanto on behalf of everyone involved.

Dortmund Airport is not only a stopover location for Eurowings but also functions as a base, which means that the airline currently has two aircraft stationed in Dortmund. In addition to the long-established routes to Munich and Palma de Mallorca, Eurowings currently flies to eight other destinations from Dortmund: Split, Rhodes, Heraklion, Kavala, Thessaloniki, Catania, Málaga and Alicante.
