For the first time, the airline Wizz Air has included a connection from Dortmund to Brasov into its route network. The Airbus took off from Dortmund Airport in the morning, inaugurating the eighth route to Romania. The Hungarian airline now operates the route twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, offering travellers another direct flight option to Transylvania.

Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services + Marketing & Sales, personally welcomed the seven-strong crew to the flight apron: “Given the high demand for destinations in Romania, we are extremely pleased to be able to offer our passengers Brasov, which is now our eighth destination in Romania. We can see from the existing routes that destinations in Romania are highly attractive for domestic travellers as well as for business travellers and tourists.”

As one of the most important economic, cultural and sporting centres of Romania, Brasov receives thousands of tourists every year. A well-preserved old town with medieval architecture and a wide range of cultural activities give the city its special appeal. The surrounding Carpathian Mountains not only provide a picturesque cityscape, but also make Brasov an ideal starting point for winter sports and hiking trips.

In addition to Brasov, Dortmund Airport already has Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Târgu Mureș, Suceava, Sibiu and Iași as Romanian destinations in its portfolio. The ninth destination, Craiova, will follow at the end of October.
