Airport-Express, Airport-Shuttle, Bus 490

Dear passengers,

in connection with the six-lane expansion of the A 40 motorway (currently the B 1 federal highway) between the Dortmund-Ost junction and the Dortmund/Unna motorway interchange, we would like to inform you of the following measures:

The following arrangements will apply from Monday, 8 June 2026, until provisionally Friday, 26 June 2026:

• The AirportExpress (Dortmund Central Station – Airport) will operate via a diversion route via the Dortmund/Unna junction. Depending on traffic conditions, significant delays may occur.
  
  
• Bus route 490 operates exclusively between the terminal and parking space P6 West, which means that the airport cannot be reached from Dortmund Aplerbeck U during this period. Passengers travelling to the airport are asked to take the RB59 from Dortmund Central Station to Holzwickede station and change there to the airport shuttle.
  
  
• The AirportShuttle (Holzwickede – Airport) will also accept VRR tickets during the afore mentioned period.

Please allow plenty of time for your journey to and from the airport.
