Dortmund Airport has announced that Wizz Air will introduce a new direct connection to Warsaw into its route network starting from 10 June 2025. With this, Wizz Air expands its service to include its third and most easterly Polish destination, adding to its already heavily frequented Polish network. “We are delighted to integrate another major connection into our offerings. Warsaw is not only a key economic hub but also a location with significant tourist potential,” says Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services + Marketing & Sales.

The Polish capital impresses with its rich culture and a wide range of experiences. Visitors to Warsaw will encounter traces of many renowned figures from science, art, sport and politics as they explore the city. Among them, the notable Marie Curie, a leading scientist of her time, and the famous composer Fryderyk Chopin, who trained musically in Warsaw. From the bustling city centre with its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, to the emerging Praga district and the royal parks, Warsaw offers endless cultural exploration. “With this new route, we are facilitating access for our passengers to one of Europe's most thrilling cities,” concludes Guido Miletic.

Poland is becoming increasingly appealing to German companies, partly due to its strong economic growth. While overall exports decreased, German exports to Eastern Europe have increased. Recently, Poland has even surpassed China as a market for German goods. “The economic ties between Germany and Poland are continually developing. Establishing the Warsaw route is a natural step and will strengthen the exchange between businesses and investors of both nations,” adds Guido Miletic.

Wizz Air will operate flights to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). Handling over 18 million passengers, it is Poland's largest airport and serves as an excellent hub for passengers transferring between short, medium, and long-haul flights. The Dortmund-Warsaw route will operate five days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
