With Wizz Air from Dortmund to Craiova

Dortmund Airport is delighted to announce the return of the flight connection to Craiova. From 2 June 2025, the Hungarian airline Wizz Air will once again integrate the route into its schedule, operating it three times a week from Dortmund. Passengers can then enjoy direct flights to Wallachia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The route to Craiova was initially launched in October last year, but had to be temporarily suspended just a few months later in January. The reason for this was the extraordinary repairs of the Pratt & Whitney engines, which caused Wizz Air to reduce frequencies on some routes or to temporarily halt them entirely. Now the connection is returning, expanding Dortmund Airport’s network to include a ninth Romanian destination.

The charming city in southern Romania is situated in the border triangle between Serbia and Bulgaria and boasts a wealth of attractions, historic buildings, and museums.Green spaces like the idyllic Botanical Garden and the Nicolae Romanescu Park beckon visitors for walks and outdoor relaxation.Additionally, the university city hosts a large number of national and international students.
