Dortmund Airport is delighted to announce that the popular route to the Polish airport Olsztyn-Mazury in Szymany will be reinstated from autumn 2025. Beginning 28th October, Wizz Air will resume this route, offering flights twice a week—on Tuesdays and Saturdays—from Dortmund to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The flight duration is approximately 100 minutes.

This route has been part of Dortmund's flight schedule since 2018, but was temporarily halted last spring. The suspension was due to maintenance on the Pratt & Whitney engines, which temporarily prevented Wizz Air from operating some aircraft as scheduled. “We are thrilled that flights to Olsztyn-Mazury from Dortmund are resuming once more. There was high demand during their absence, and together with Wizz Air, we are excited to meet passengers' desires and broaden our destination offerings with another enticing direct route to Poland,” stated Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services + Marketing & Sales.

Szymany is located in northeastern Poland and is seen as a hidden gem for those seeking a perfect starting point for nature adventures, hiking, cycling, or water sports. Notably famous is the Masurian Lake District, consisting of around 3,000 lakes. The region boasts miles of cycling and hiking trails inviting exploration. Active holidaymakers will also find ample opportunities for sporting challenges, including kayaking, sailing, and fishing.

Tickets are now available for booking through Wizz Air.
