Blick auf Nis

Dortmund Airport is delighted to announce the return of a popular flight route: From 5 January 2026, travellers from Dortmund can once again fly directly to Niš twice a week. This city in southeastern Serbia was included in Dortmund's flight schedule from 2016 to January 2024 but was temporarily suspended. From next year, Wizz Air will resume services to this city of approximately 250,000 residents on Mondays and Fridays.

Niš Constantine the Great Airport, the second largest airport in Serbia, is located about 250 kilometres southeast of Belgrade and roughly 160 kilometres west of Bulgaria's capital, Sofia. Niš is one of the oldest cities in the Balkans, boasting a rich history influenced by both Roman and Ottoman cultures. The city is traversed by the Nišava River and is surrounded by mountains, dense forests, and stunning waterfalls. Niš is also renowned as the birthplace of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great.
