Airport route network continues to grow

The variety of routes at Dortmund Airport continues to increase: From 29 March 2026, Wizz Air will reinstate the Dortmund–Târgu Mureș route on its flight schedule. The Hungarian airline will then serve the city on the banks of the Mureș River in north-central Romania every Wednesday and Sunday, with a flight time of around 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Târgu Mureș is in the historical region of Transylvania, known for its Romanian, Hungarian, and German influences. The Palace of Culture is particularly remarkable with its frescoes, stained glass windows, and colourful mosaics. The medieval Târgu Mureș Castle, built in 1602, is also one of the city's key landmarks. Nature enthusiasts will find plenty to appreciate in the expansive forests and rolling hills of Transylvania.
With this addition, the number of Romanian destinations from Dortmund rises to ten, making Romania the most frequently flown country from Dortmund Airport. “The fact that Wizz Air has announced three new routes from Dortmund in such a short time shows the airline’s confidence in this location,” explains Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services + Marketing & Sales. “The continuous expansion of Wizz Air’s route network not only boosts tourism, but also fosters business connections and facilitates access for business travellers to key economic centres in Europe.” In addition to Târgu Mureș, Dortmund Airport also announced the launch of connections to Niš, Bratislava, Wrocław, London, and Oradea for 2026.
Flights are now available for booking through Wizz Air.
