Flight connection to Nis established

At the beginning of the year, there's cause for celebration at Dortmund Airport: On January 5th, Wizz Air started flights between Dortmund and the Serbian city of Nis. Serbia’s third-largest city can now be reached comfortably from the Ruhr area in around 2 hours and 20 minutes of flight time. Flights operate every Monday and Friday.
Nis is one of the oldest cities in the Balkans, blending Western Roman and Ottoman influences, earning it the nickname "Gateway between East and West". Situated about 250 kilometres southeast of Belgrade and 160 kilometres west of Sofia, Nis offers culture lovers a wealth of historical sights. The fortress of Nis, a significant landmark, is also a cultural hub, regularly attracting music and film fans.
Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services, Marketing & Sales, welcomed the inaugural flight crew on the apron. “We are delighted to include Nis as a second Serbian destination in our network, further strengthening our links with the Balkans.” "We value the trust Wizz Air places in us, reflected in their ongoing expansion from Dortmund." Wizz Air, the airport's largest partner, currently serves 28 destinations from Dortmund. The network expansion not only provides more direct routes but also boosts the region’s tourism and economic connections.
