Short-term measures due to tense traffic situation at the airport

DSW21 and Dortmund Airport are responding with immediate measures to the tense traffic situation on site, which affects route 490 as well as the Airport Express and the Airport Shuttle. Due to the closure of Emschertalstraße and the simultaneous closure of the B1 exit "Holzwickede" in the direction of Unna, there are currently considerable delays in the airport area. The aim of the measures is to ease the situation somewhat and offer more reliable transport connections - they will apply from 15 to 24 April.

Line 490 now only runs on the section between "Dortmund Airport" and "Airport P6 West". The section between the stops "Zur alten Windmühle" and "Aplerbeck U" will temporarily not be served. Passengers are recommended to travel to and from the airport using the airport shuttle and the RB59 train line - change at Holzwickede station. The airport shuttle can be used temporarily with all tickets of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association (VRR). For passengers travelling along Köln-Berliner-Straße to/from Aplerbeck, bus routes 431 and 437 are useful alternatives. The Airport Express, which runs between Dortmund main station and the airport, will continue to be routed via the already communicated diversion via the Dortmund/Unna junction. Depending on the traffic situation, there may be major delays. Passengers should always allow more travelling time.
