Wizz Air expands its route network to Romania

From summer 2026, Wizz Air will further expand its flight offerings at Dortmund Airport: The Hungarian airline will link Dortmund Airport with Oradea in Romania. The new route will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays, adding a ninth Romanian destination to the airport’s network. The service is set to commence on 28 June 2026.
Oradea is situated in western Romania, just about 13 km from the Hungarian border. Known as Romania’s centre of Art Nouveau, the city impresses with Baroque churches featuring colourful windows, splendid palaces and historic squares, making Oradea a true open-air museum. Oradea Castle has a history spanning nearly 1000 years and forms the historical heart of the city. The nearby Apuseni Mountains provide outdoor enthusiasts with great hiking and excursion opportunities. The Crișul Repede river flows through the city, while thermal baths with mineral-rich hot springs offer relaxation.
“With Oradea, passengers from Dortmund can explore a city that surprises and delights with its Art Nouveau architecture, historical landmarks, and vibrant cultural scene,” said Guido Miletic, Head of Airport Services and Marketing & Sales. “The route network from Dortmund to Romania is already extensive and very popular with passengers. With Oradea, we are expanding our network to include another fascinating region and are offering an even wider range of travel opportunities.”
Flights can now be booked via Wizz Air.
