Self-transfer has become an important way of travelling.

To make your transfer at Dortmund Airport as comfortable as possible, you will find the most important information on this page.

Transfer in Dortmund - it's that easy!

There is no separate transfer area at Dortmund Airport. Once you arrive at the airport, you will therefore have to leave the security area and check in again. Here is the process explained in detail:

  • Travelling with check-in baggage: after leaving the aircraft, first go to the baggage claim and collect your suitcase(s).

  • Travelling with hand luggage: you can pass directly through the baggage claim hall after arriving at Dortmund Airport.

You are on the arrivals level (level 0) and need to transfer to the departures level (level 1). To get to the higher level, you can use the escalators, lifts or staircases.

If you are travelling with checked baggage or need to check in for your onward flight, please visit your airline's check-in counters on the departure level (level 1). You can then check in your baggage and receive your boarding pass, if applicable.

Then proceed to the security check.

As a Kiwi.com customer, you can use the fast lane at security control B. To use the Fast Lane, you will need your boarding pass/flight ticket and the Fast Lane ticket. You will receive both from Kiwi.com

Fast Lane tickets are not available separately!

Important tips for your trip

Please note: Depending on your country of origin or destination, passport controls may be required. Please make sure you have your valid identification documents ready.

You should be at the gate at least 40 minutes before your flight departs. This will ensure that your onward flight is free of stress!

The monitors in the terminal provide information on the gate you need to go to after check-in or bag check and security check.
