A new destination from Dortmund: With Wizz Air to Riga

From June, the Latvian capital, Riga, will be added to Dortmund Airport's scheduled flights. Wizz Air will connect the largest city in the Baltic with the airport in the Ruhr. From 22 June an Airbus A320, which is now stationed in Riga, will fly to Dortmund twice per week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.

"After Vilnius, Wizz Air is now offering Riga as a second destination in the Baltic, flying from Dortmund. The airline is thus adding to its extensive range of destinations in Central and Eastern Europe from Dortmund and is adding to the airport's particular strengths," explained the happy airport manager, Udo Mager.

With a population of 699,203, Riga is the largest city in the Baltic. With over 1 million inhabitants in the region, Riga is also one of the most densely populated areas of the Baltic States and is a political, economic and cultural centre in Latvia. This Hanseatic city on the Baltic Sea is well known for its historic centre and its art nouveau buildings are famous.

Wizz Air is the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and has a fleet of 46 Airbus A320 aircraft to connect 96 destinations in 35 countries. With almost 1 million passengers, Wizz Air is the most important airline at Dortmund Airport. Almost 80 % of its German flights start here.

Riga flights from Dortmund are available from 19.99 euros and can be booked immediately under www.wizzair.com.
