Flughafen dortmund vorfeld flugzeuge wizzair ryanair

On Sunday, 28 October 2018, Dortmund Airport will start the winter season with a total of 37 destinations in 22 different countries. In addition to metropolises such as Munich, London and Budapest, numerous other attractive cities in Central, Southern and Eastern Europe can also be reached via a short trip from Dortmund Airport. Riga, Krakow and Wroclaw (Breslau) are wonderful places to visit during the Advent season and put visitors in a celebratory mood with their unique historical scenery and charming city decorations. Travellers who prefer the sun and want to escape the cooler temperatures, can use air connections from Dortmund Airport to Porto, Málaga, Thessaloniki and Palma de Mallorca. In addition, the Hungarian airline Wizz Air is adding five new destinations to the flight schedule, which are already bookable.

New routes in the winter

With the change of seasons, Wizz Air is taking on a new route from Dortmund to Tirana. The capital of Albania will be connected to Dortmund from 30 October 2018 up to three times a week and will be the destination of many travellers heading back home. This will be the only direct connection in North Rhine-Westphalia during the winter season.

The proximity of the 500,000-inhabitant city to the coast is not only attractive to many locals, but also attracts tourists to the beaches of the Ionian and Adriatic Sea.

In November, a true classic among favourite European travel destinations returns to the flight schedule: the Austrian capital Vienna. Wizz Air aircraft will fly from Dortmund Airport to Vienna from 25 November 2018, bringing tourists and business travellers to the cultural and economic centre in the heart of Europe. Airline tickets are available on the Dortmund Airport website at https://www.dortmundairport.de/flug-buchen.

Also new in the winter season 18/19: Debrecen. The second largest city in Hungary can be reached from Dortmund Airport in just under two hours starting mid-December. It will be the only direct connection so far from North Rhine Westphalia travelling to the culturally and historically rich city. The Reformed Collegium, as the intellectual centre of the Hungarian Reform Era, is one of the most important attractions, as is the Fog Theatre, a multimedia fountain near the Nagyerdei Stadium.

From 15 December 2018, Pristina in Kosovo will also be served from Dortmund Airport. The operating airline for this new route is also Wizz Air, the low-cost specialist for flights to Eastern Europe. Wizz Air flights will depart for Pristina three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The new route from Dortmund to Chisinau in Moldova will also be introduced in December. Travelers can board the flight from Dortmund Airport to Chisinau on Wednesdays and Sundays. With more than 530,000 inhabitants, it is the largest and liveliest city in Moldova and invites you to take strolls and relax in one of its many green parks. Two of the largest wine cellars in the world are only a few kilometres away from Chisinau - perfect for wine lovers. Airline tickets are available through Wizz Air's airport website or booking engine.
