In accordance with the new decree by the NRW state government, all airline passengers travelling into the country from risk areas must take a COVID-19 test after landing at the airport or produce a negative test result. Dortmund Airport has responded to this latest decree and has acquired a new partner Medicare, who is setting up a rapid test centre in the arrivals area of the airport terminal. Medicare operates 17 test centres in Germany, 13 of which are in NRW.

Medicare’s first test centre in Dortmund will open on 01.01.2021 at 12pm at Dortmund Airport. Medicare is not only offering COVID-19 rapid antigen tests to all of the airport’s airline passengers, but also to local citizens. Test results are available after 15 to 30 minutes and are accessible via QR code, link or email on the smartphone of the person tested. It is also possible to obtain a printout of the test results, but there will be a short wait.

To avoid waiting times, citizens who want to be tested should make an online appointment for a rapid antigen test from 01.01.2021 at www.covid-testzentrum.de
