Due to the Russian war of aggression in the Ukraine and the associated flight bans, Dortmund Airport was no longer able to serve particular destinations. This included the capital of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau. Moldova borders Ukraine. Flights from Dortmund to Chisinau have been possible again since 6 September. The Hungarian airline Wizz Air offers these flights several times a week.
