On the 29th of October, coinciding with the changeover from summer to winter time, the winter flight schedule comes into effect at Dortmund Airport. The winter season, which runs until next March, offers travellers a wide variety of destinations from Dortmund. A total of 38 destinations in 20 different countries are available.

Popular routes to London, Katowice or Palma de Mallorca also feature in the route network several times a week during the winter months. Equally attractive destinations such as Vilnius or Gdansk offer a wide range of sightseeing options and are well worth a visit due to their atmospheric Christmas markets, especially between the end of November and the beginning of January. For travellers looking for temperatures in the double digits, flights to Izmir, Porto or Thessaloniki offer the most promising outlook. The twice-weekly flights to Brasov are particularly noteworthy for winter sports enthusiasts. The impressive snowy landscapes of the Carpathians offer a picturesque winter backdrop and are an invitation to enjoy extensive skiing and snowboarding tours.

New flight routes in winter

Right at the start of the season, Wizz Air is introducing another direct connection from Dortmund: starting on the 30th of October, Craiova will be added to the airport's portfolio of destinations. Another highlight is the new connection to Sabiha Gökçen airport in Istanbul. From the 19th of December, passengers from Dortmund will be able to travel to the Turkish metropolis with Pegasus Airlines three times a week.
